The “SELECT” prefix was incorporated in 1999 as a small
elite reproduction centre for Jerseys and Holsteins. Our objectives
were, and still remain, to develop and export top jersey genetics to
everywhere in the world. Our focus is on balanced breeding that develops
high type cows with high production, high components, repeatability and
longevity.
One of the great cows in the Jersey breed is JIF Little Minnie, who is
classified Excellent 96. Minnie
emulates the goals of Select Jersey which makes her an ideal foundation
cow and through our flush program, we offer you a chance to be a part of Select’s breeding program. Resulting flushes from bulls such as Just
Wait, Resurrection, and ….. have proven successful through very correct
daughters, and sons now in the Semex Designer Series sire program.
One of the cow families that have made an impact on our breeding program
begins with the great Pleasant Nook JI Marthamay. One of her daughters,
Llolyn Jude Gold, is a major force for Select proving herself with Very
Good young daughters such as Select JW Beautygold VG89. Jude Gold’s full
sister, Llolyn Jude Griffon, was just named Reserve Champion Cow at the
2005 World Dairy Expo.
